System Configuration Page

Use the System Configuration page to view and set system settings, such as a hostname and comments, on your LabVIEW Real-Time target.

Notes
  • Targets running LabVIEW Real-Time 2010 or later use a user name/password method of protecting system configuration. By default, each remote device includes a single user with the following name and password:

    User nameadmin
    Password<blank>
  • You can restrict who has access to view the settings on this page using the GetSystemConfiguration permission on the Security Configuration page.

System Settings

  1. Enter a hostname in the Hostname text box. Choose a name that makes your system easy to identify.
Note Note  Your system may already have a name assigned to it. You can keep this name or enter another name.
  2. Enter any comments in the Comments box.
  3. Use the Locale setting to change the locale of strings returned from the remote target. Locale selections include only those locales supported on the target. Not all software supports this setting.
  4. Enable Halt on IP Failure to stop the LabVIEW Real-Time Module if the network connection fails when you boot the remote system. If the system is configured to use DHCP but fails to receive a DHCP address, the system will reboot instead of using a link local address. If you clear the Halt on IP Failure checkbox, the LabVIEW Real-Time Module starts and runs startup applications you created, even if TCP/IP fails when you boot the system.
  5. Use System Configuration Web Access to specify from where the system configuration settings can be accessed for the target. Select Local Only to allow configuration only from the target. Select Local and Remote to allow both local and remote configuration. (Windows Embedded Standard 7) Select Local and Remote to enable remote Web Service deployment from a LabVIEW project.
  6. Click Save to apply your changes.

You can view, but not edit, the following items:

Updating Firmware

Note Note  Not all devices support firmware updates.
  1. Click the Update Firmware button.
  2. Select the firmware image to which you want to upgrade from the drop-down list. You also can click the Browse button to select a firmware file from the host.
Note Note   If there are no firmware images available on your device, the Update Firmware button launches a dialog box for you to select a firmware image from the local host.
  3. Click the Begin Update button.

You can erase firmware from a supported device by clicking the Erase Firmware button in the Settings section of the System Configuration page.

Startup Settings

Use the following options to specify the startup settings for your target.

System Resources

Note Note  The System Resources section is displayed only for LabVIEW Real-Time systems.

You can view, but not change, five system-level items in the System Resources section:

Slot Details

Slot Details displays a list of devices in a networked chassis, such as a cDAQ chassis, and includes the slot number, model, and serial number of each device. Click a chassis in the list on the left side of the System Configuration page to display the Slot Details section.
